23 March 20:00 Group Sonidos Vivos, «Living Sounds», came to life after an encounter between musicians of diverse origins who all gathered around Peruvian music.
In 2003 in Peru, Lucho Quequezana came up with the concept for the show, which was only revealed in Montreal three years later during an intensive work-in progress that lasted from February to April 2006, as part of the UNESCO-ASCHBERG-MMM Bursaries for Artists programme. The artists taking part in the show are Lucho Quequezana (director and composer), Alfredo Quequezana and Julio Llerena (directly from Peru), and the following Montrealers of diverse origins: René Orea-Sánchez (Venezuela), Jairo Gómez (Colombia), Huu Bac Quach (Vietnam), Ismail Fencioglu (Turkey), Yoel Díaz (Cuba) et Éric Breton (Quebec).
